Books were deleted from Kindle account right away but have lingered on my app. I selected the book by pressing down and selected the "download" option. Message popped up -- unable to download and provided an option to "Remove from library". Thank you.
I could not get these books off my Kindle with 1. Got tired of looking at loan ended on my Kindle Fire. Had deleted it on my Amazon page and regular Kindle but it lingered on the Fire for some reason. These work, but still a couple of books that were deleted hanging on in the app even though the items weren't displaying under content list in the content and devices section.

I feel such a weight lifted off my [loan ended] kindle list. I was looking for this for SO long! That [Loan Ended] tag was getting annoying. Neither worked. Can I only delete a few at a time? Dale, Unfortunately, as far as we know there is not a bulk delete option for Kindle books.
You may try contacting Amazon support to see if they could assist you with that. I have deleted all the loan books on my Paper White kindle but when I try to get a book, it still says I have too many books on loan.
I don't know how to fix. All the changes on Kindle are very bad and confusing. Get a Libby app! What is it and when they send me the link it doesn't work. Elinor, you may need to actually return and not just delete the Kindle books through your Amazon account. You can delete without returning, which means they still take up a loan spot. The Libby app is only for Kindle tablets and smartphones, and will not work with a Kindle Paperwhite. I know how to delete a book from the library, my problem is I dont want to delete without the availability of rereading the book sometime in the future.
How do I get them out of my books without losing the possibility of redownloading from library at some point in future.
Linda, deleting a Kindle book from your Amazon account does not affect checking the same title out from the library at a furture time. If you do delete a book, and check it out again, it will just be added to your Amazon account like a new book. Note that if you do do this, and saved notes or bookmarks about the book will be deleted, and will not show up if you check out the book again.
